The Harrisburg office of Smith Barney founded the “Smith Barney • Millers Mutual Harrisburg Mile” in July of 1982, and has been the title sponsor of the event since that time. Over its quarter century history, the Smith Barney • Millers Mutual Harrisburg Mile has developed into the area’s largest race event. With 13 different mile heats including a Half Pint Half Mile, Elite Mile, Masters Elite, Corporate Challenge and Just for Fun Mile/Walk, the event is a challenge for all ages and abilities.

Richard Conway, senior vice president of Smith Barney, says, “The Smith Barney • Millers Mutual Harrisburg Mile has always been a wonderful community event for runners and avid spectators alike. The growth of the race is a testimony to the volunteers who dedicate their time and to our local businesses and community who support it each year. Everyone is excited to make the 27th annual event the best ever.”

They work hand-in-hand with us, making sure everything runs smoothly—from ordering race T-shirts to helping us put a brochure together.
